and during performances. It's up for you to determine whether or not they are aware or active participants in this display of symbology. You will see the artists display this through various camera angles, shadowing or blatantly pointing or covering up of one eye leaving the other exposed.
It is also known as the "Eye of Ra", a powerful destructive force linked with the fierce heat of the sun which was described as the "Daughter of Ra". The "eye" was personified as the goddess Wadjet and associated with a number of other gods and goddesses (notably Hathor, Bast, Sekhmet, Tefnut, Nekhbet and Mut). Various esoteric meanings are derived by the use of the one eye symbology.
